No — and this is the most important thing to get right. Cloud backup is a critical piece, but it answers a narrow question (“can I get my data back?”), not the bigger one (“how fast is my whole business operational again?”). A pile of files in the cloud doesn’t restore your servers, applications, user access, and phones on its own. Real disaster recovery is a plan built on top of good backups: defined recovery targets (how fast = RTO, how much data you can afford to lose = RPO), a documented runbook, somewhere to fail over to, and — the part everyone skips — regular testing. 3-2-1 is the long-standing standard for backups that actually survive trouble: keep 3 copies of your data (the live copy plus two backups), on 2 different types of media, with 1 copy off-site. The off-site copy is what saves you when a fire, flood, theft, or hurricane takes out your building and the local backup with it — a real risk on the Space Coast. The reason it matters: a single backup sitting on a drive next to your server protects you from almost nothing. Yes, your business should follow 3-2-1 (or a modern variant of it), and we set it up automated and monitored so it actually runs, with versioning so ransomware can’t encrypt your only good copy.
It depends on how much data you can afford to lose if something fails — that’s your RPO (recovery point objective). If losing a day’s work is tolerable, nightly backups are fine. If losing more than an hour would hurt (an active database, transaction records), you want backups or continuous replication through the day.
